location
Our holiday
farm “Il Contadino” is flanked by mountains an located
only 8 km from the marvelous sea of Calabria and his
beaches.
The nearest village is Calopezzati Marina (CS) and is
situated on the Ionic Sea which is the inlet between the
Golf of Coregliano and Punta Santa Maria di Leuca.
The area is the much coveted holiday destination of all
those who love beaches and seaside.
The thermometer never goes below 10° and in the summer
rarely below 30° which makes the region accessible for
holidays during the entire year.
Its inland is full of history, culture and wonderful
landscapes to admire. The region is also popular for the
famous archeological sites nearby Calopezzati.
On top of this, you can experience the beauty of the
local National Park “Il Parco Nazionale della Sila”: the
flank of the Sila offers the possibility to observe al
kind of birds and wild animals: fat dormice and
salamanders, woodpeckers and buzzards, night owls and
wolfs are still populating the breathless pine
landscapes.
The small villages in the surroundings maintained old
tradition with folk festivals, offering the handcraft
and the warmth of southern people.
The Journey
Travelling by car:
Calabria is quite easy to reach by car from North Italy.
Take highway A14 travelling along the Adriatic Coast
until the last toll station: Taranto. Take the “Strada
Statale 106 Jonica” in the direction of Reggio Calabria
until kilometer mark 317.
If you are coming from the Tyrrhenian coast, you need to
take the “Salerno-Reggio Calabria” highway. Take the
exit at the toll station Catrovillari/Frascineto and
then take the same above-mentioned Strada Statale 106
until kilometer mark 317.

in your navigation system.
Make sure that you always pay attention to the traffic
signs!
Travelling by train
Trains travel quite often from all main Italian cities:
Rome, Milan, Torino or Bologna.
You will have to change train either in Rossano Calabro
or in Cariati and take another
local train, which will take you directly to Calopezzati.
Our shuttle-service will be glad to pick you up once you
reach the station!
Travelling by plane
Calabria is supplied by three airports: Reggio Calabria,
Lamezia Terme and Crotone.
You can fly daily from Rome, Milano or Bologna and a few
other additional locations. Our shuttle-service will
make sure to pick you up and transport you to the
holiday farm.
